Decentral Games Community Spotlight: Morph

Decentral Games Community Spotlight: Morph

Tell us a little about yourself.

Hi all, Morph here—I’m a Decentraland and ICE Poker streamer who collects rare wearables.

I have a passion for decentralization, especially when it comes to interoperable avatars and games. I’m also a proud member of Last Slice and M3.

After earning my High Roller Crown, I’ve become quite invested in the DG ecosystem—starting the original Diamond Hands City (DHC) games alongside some other notable crown owners. Recently, I hit the 1-year anniversary for both DHC nights and my ICE Poker streaming career.

How did you get into web3? What was your web3 “aha” moment?

I was a consultant at some bigger companies back in 2017 during the early blockchain days, which 90% consisted of convincing marketing guys they needed a regular database. (Looking back, I was just a beginner then—but don’t tell any of them that! ;D)

While I believed in the power of Bitcoin, I wasn’t convinced that Ethereum would find mainstream success. This was before anyone cared about CryptoPunks or DeFi.

But then, it happened.

After a hiatus, I logged into my RuneScape account and found it was hacked via Jagex’s notorious “Recovery System” and obscure details I was too foolish to OpSec some 10-15 years ago. The hacker bypassed all 2FA and account security, and my 20-year account was gone.

That was the moment I realized the only true security is self-sovereignty.

How long have you been involved in the DG community?

I joined in the early days, back when there were weekly poker nights upstairs at Tominoya with $25 DG giveaways to table winners (Thanks Spicy!).

Of course, I was foolish enough to pass on the original (and now legendary) DG Suit mint. But I was involved in the ICE ecosystem from then on, and claimed my crown with the Chef set.

Do you have a fun memory or story hanging out with the Decentral Games’ community?

I’ll never forget those early days in Tominoya, but starting the DHC night has truly been one of the greatest events I’ve ever been a part of. It’s amazing to show up every week and see the same people running it back alongside new faces.

I think one of my fondest memories has to be the crown minting out, and the race from everyone to get one of the original and most limited High Roller items.

We quickly called an assembly outside the new DHC for a group photo—which I still have saved to this day!

What is some advice you would give a new player to ICE Poker?

Poker is fun, but playing with friends is funner!

Get a rank 5 All Access wearable and come join us at DHC for some of the best competitive poker that DG has to offer. Working towards a full wearable set and getting your first High Roller item is also a must, those chats are where we shoot the breeze and organize happenings.

What’s your favorite ICE Poker wearable collection?

As much as I love how the Cyberpunk set matches Wonderbot—my favorite has to be the DG Suit.

If you had a superpower, what would it be and why?

Whatever helps me not suck at poker. Gimme time-freezing or telepathy and I’m on my way to the WSOP!

Are you working on any projects in web3?

I’m always working to improve my avatar and VTubing stream setup. Most recently, I created a VR penthouse so you can come party with me live on the stream cam.

Long term, I’d love to take what I’ve learned and automate this avatar export process for all Decentralites so that we can travel the Metaverse together as our avatars.

Where can people learn more about you and what you’re doing?

I’m live every Thursday if you want to check out the stream or come by the DHC poker night!
